The Area

Les Gets is an old Savoyarde village in the heart of the Portes du Soleil.  Traditionally alpine in character, Les Gets maintains its old world charm whilst providing everything for an enjoyable summer holiday.  The bustling main street has many shops and bars.  The restaurants cater for all tastes.  There is a large market in the village centre every week.

Les Gets can be reached by car from the French sea ports by motorway to Geneva and then a short drive to the village.  If preferred, it is also possible to fly to Geneva and hire a car to drive the short distance to Les Gets.  Buses also run from Geneva Airport, taxis operate from the airport or the village.  For more information about Les Gets go to www.lesgets.com

 

The Accommodation
"Annie-Sylvie" is a chalet comprising six self contained apartments.  There is a garage on the ground floor with a separate numbered bay for each apartment.  Our apartment is on the first floor and sleeps a maximum of six persons.
There are two bedrooms, one contains twin beds, the other two sets of full size bunk beds.  There is a double sofa bed in the lounge, making the sleeping arrangements more flexible, so that the apartment can cater for one family or three couples, etc.
There is a bathroom with WC, hand basin and bath with shower over.  There is a well equipped kitchen with full-size cooker, dishwasher, microwave, and large fridge/freezer, and lounge/diner.  There is a radio/cassette/cd player and a TV/ video player (tv not connected to aerial).  The apartment rental price includes electricity.  Blankets and pillows are supplied but linen, e.g. sheets, pillowcases and towels, are not provided.  The apartment is thoroughly cleaned before your visit.
The ski schools in Les Gets are excellent.  There is an English ski school based in the village which caters for English guests.  The ski schools meet on the nursery slopes in the village centre.  Skis, poles and boots can be hired locally.
There are many summer sporting activities including a new golf course, swimming at the health centre, tennis (at one of the clubs or opposite at the Hotel Labrador), mountain biking (bikes can be hired in the village), canoeing, white water rafting, parapenting, archery, trampolining, grass skiing, boules, horse riding, (from Hotel Labrador) and much more.  The ski lifts are open and there are marked walks and activity courses on the mountain.
